The University College Cork John C. Kelleher Family Business Centre, operated under the aegis of the Department of Management and Marketing, is the first center for family business in Ireland.


History

The John C. Kelleher Family Business Centre was established through the generosity of Blarney Woolen Mills, of which John C. Kelleher was the founder.

Strategic mission and services

The Centre provides educational programs, networking, and research (compilation of national database, research papers, and case studies) regarding family business in Ireland. Their 2006 conference was entitled "Prevention is Better than Cure" and their 2007 conference was entitled "Building to the Next Generation." The Centre hosts the Irish chapter of Family Business Network International.
